In my 30 plus years of putting on shows I have never seen such a reaction to a performance. Al in his tribute to Red, had them in laughter, tears and chuckles, everyone in the crowd asked us to please bring him back. He received a standing ovation at the end of his performance by the more than 500 people in attendance, what a way to open our new theatre . Thank you Al for the walk back in time to a better place, one without violence, hate, and contempt to a time of love, laughter and good honest clean fun. For anyone wishing to book a show for the 55 and up crew, this is it, but hurry because once the word is out, he will be hard to get. Fantastic thanks Al, drop us a line when you travel through again. Jim MacPherson (written after seeing Al's fantastic show

Simon emigrated to Canada from the UK in 2003 but still keeps his musical roots firmly in the era of the British Invasion of the 60's. Enjoy this trip down memory lane with great songs from that period (Beatles, Kinks, Herman's Hermits and many more…) plus other music legends such as Roy Orbison, CCR and Elton John to name but a few. Funtime, foot-tapping 50 / 60 / 70’s nostalgia from slow ballads to "up tempo" floor-show numbers featuring live playing of guitar, keyboard, mouth organ, saxophone, banjolele and vocals supported by professional-level backing tracks to give a full-band sound. Dance the night away or just sit back and listen – the choice is yours!
This act is extremely versatile and can accommodate the smaller, more intimate area through to larger venues. The music is timeless and appeals to all age groups from the young to the “young at heart”. Simon has done radio interviews for Majic 100 radio, CHIP FM and Valley Heritage Radio to talk about his exciting time spent as a Dreamer.
In 2010 Simon and his wife Julia became proud Canadian citizens
As a Dreamer, Simon worked with many of his 60's heroes - Gerry and the Pacemakers,
Herman's Hermits, Billy J. Kramer, Eric Burdon and the New Animals, Wayne
Fontana, The Hollies, Marmalade, The Searchers, The Tremeloes, The Troggs, Martha Reeves and
the Vandellas to name but a few.

Richmond Ramblers (one of my favorite bands to work with)
The Richmond Ramblers Bluegrass Band is a group of musicians hailing from the village of Richmond, Ontario on the fringe of Ottawa. In 2009, a poster at the local grocery store entitled, “Looking for Bluegrass Pickers”, resulted in the birth of the band (jamming in Dale’s kitchen twice a week). Over time, the jams relocated to Glen’s basement studio (also in Richmond) and gradually the roster continued to grow to currently 8. As a hometown band, the group enjoys entertaining at area retirement homes, fundraisers, private functions, country fairs and festivals throughout the year.
The Richmond Ramblers play predominantly bluegrass music with a mix of classic country. The talent in the group is steeped with years of musical experience including a formally trained and award winning fiddler. Instrumentation includes fiddle, bass fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, mouth harp, lead male vocal, and harmonies. When not performing, the band gets to together regularly twice a week for the enjoyment of jamming and learning new tunes together. Musical influences include Kenny Baker, Bill Munroe, The Carter Family, Old Crow Medicine Show, Valdy, Hank Snow, Merle Haggard, Porter Wagoner, Bob Wills, Osborne Bros, Tom T. Hall, and Clarence White amongst others. They love to play and to entertain, but at the same time they all strive to keep a balance between the band and their respective family responsibilities.
In October 2013, the Richmond Ramblers were honored to be invited to perform as the opening act at the newly renovated Gallipeau Centre Theatre, Smith Falls, ON. The event was a huge success and fortunately the band will be back to perform there again in the future. Check out their website gig calendar. http:\\richmondramblersbluegrassband.weebly.com
